DRT Ammunition 9mm Terminal Shock

This will be the first test in a series of tests that we will do with the DRT “Dynamic Research Technologies” Terminal Shock series. In This video we shoot the 9mm hollow Point through a 16″ Clear Ballistics block. We use a Glock 19, and a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 for the test, both fired and about 3 yards. We also fire the DRT Terminal Shock rounds through six layers of denim. We were very impressed with the performance of the ammo, both in penetration and wound channel. The results we got were exactly what DRT claims in its advertisements, which we really liked. This ammo is best suited for CCW, and home defense for the damage it causes, and it’s ability not to over penetrate. We will be doing more test with this ammo, as well as some other calibers from DRT Ammunition. Glock 43 First Look Video

Today we take you along with us for our first trip to the range with the newly released Glock 43 single stack 9mm. The Glock 43 is a gun a lot of us have been waiting years for, especially since the release of pistols like the M&P Shield and the XDs. On our way to the range we stopped and picked up a few different varieties of 9mm ammo for the test. The little 43 ran like a top as far as reliability goes, didn’t have one single malfunction all day. We even got last round hold open on every magazine. The weapon is a little snappy on recoil, but that is to be expected given the size and weight of the handgun. Continue Reading

The New Sig MPX, It’s Not Perfect

We had a chance to take the new Sig Sauer MPX out for a workout the other day. At first glance we were in love with the MPX. The pistol looks to be well made, with it’s all metal construction and buttery smooth action. What can we say? This thing looks great! The Sig MPX comes in a very nice hard case with cut out foam that fits the gun and included accessories perfectly. The Sig handgun also comes with the new Sig SBX Brace on a folding adaptor that is already attached to the gun. The MPX also includes a sling, three 2″ aluminum rails and a full cleaning kit, very nice touches in our opinion. Continue Reading

First shots with the SCCY CPX-2

We took the SCCY CPX-2 out for the first time today. We ran a ton of different brands and types of 9mm ammunition through the pistol without so much as a single hiccup. The gun ran everything we put in it, and with more than 150 rounds down the pipe, the first test was a success. The CPX2 comes with two Ten round magazines  and both the pinky and flush fit mag plates. The trigger is a  double action long 9 pound pull with a long reset, but it is very smooth and comfortable to shoot. The three dot sights are very easy to pickup and accurate out to at least 20 yards, which is as far as we took it on this trip. The rear sight is made of steel and adjustable  for windage only.  Field stripping the weapon is also very easy and straight forward just as one would expect it to be. We will be doing a lot more testing on the SCCY CPX-2 over the next few months so stay tuned for the full review of this fine little handgun. IWI Tavor 9mm Suppressed

IWI Tavor 9mm Suppressed

We tested the IWI Tavor 9mm suppressed using Emcon HPR suppressor specific ammunition and the Silencerco / SWR Octane 9 HD suppressor / silencer. The results were a very quiet and capable 9mm Tavor carbine. We had zero malfunctions during our testing which came as no surprise since the 5.56 has been flawless as well. The IWI 9mm conversion kit is a great addition for any Tavor owner in my opinion and I talk about why I believe this to be the case in the video.
