Tavor OSS Suppressor Systems
The future is here with the Tavor OSS Suppressor Systems. The new silencer has it all, good looks and brains and with plenty of options to boot. First, let me start by saying the OSS Tavor specific suppressor looks fantastic but it’s not just another pretty face, no sir it has the function too. It has the ability to shoot the suppressor with just the BRP for a super short and mild sound suppression or add the SRM for the utmost in noise suppression, it is like getting two suppressors in one. The OSS suppressor has a number of distinct advantages over traditional silencers, like the one we just spoke about having the ability to shoot it in two different configurations.
Next, lets talk about back pressure. Back pressure is the rush of hot gases and debris being forced back and through the barrel and into the shooters face. You’ll hear myself and other shooters, who shoot suppressed a lot, talk about gas blow back. It is just what you get when you shoot suppressed. It’s just something you learn to deal with the nature of the beast, if you will. Traditional suppressors also cause over pressure as well, which can cause damage to some firearms due to this over pressure. The OSS suppressor fixes or greatly reduces both of these issues due to the way that it was designed. It all but eliminates most of the issues related to these problems.
Now lets talk about heat buildup. Most current suppressors get hot, I mean very hot like 1,200-1,600 degrees hot! The OSS cans plateau at about 610 degrees, thats half of more than most traditional silencers. They accomplish this by shape and internal design characteristics. Not only is this high heat really dangerous for you but it also wears out your suppressor and even parts of the firearm. Most current suppressors suffer from hot spotting too which means that parts of the suppressor get way hotter than other parts which can weaken and deteriorate faster than the cooler portions. The OSS suppressors are a lot more complex than traditional silencers. Will that cause issues? Who knows, but we do plan to do a full review and long term testing of the OSS suppressor system to find out, so stay tuned for that.
